Paul Sharobeem has joined the McDonalds Corporation as its new managing counsel and assistant corporate secretary.
Sharobeem joins the fast-food operator from Century Aluminum, where he served as associate general counsel and assistant secretary since 2022. During his tenure there, the company was named winner of the best proxy statement (small cap) category at the 2024 Corporate Governance Awards.
Prior to that, Sharobeem worked for Aramco as practice area leader – capital markets, governance and sustainability, and before that senior counsel – securities and corporate governance at Caterpillar.
Confirming the move in a LinkedIn Post, Sharobeem goes on to thank his new colleagues for welcoming him to the ‘McFamily’ and says he is excited for the ‘opportunities ahead’.
Staying in the US, Nasdaq-listed Nexstar Media Group has appointed Elizabeth Ryder as EVP, general counsel and secretary.
At the same time, Nexstar has promoted Lindsey Knapp to EVP, human resources and associate general counsel, while Jason Roberts will take on the brief of SVP, deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary.
Ryder previously served in her newly-appointed role at Nexstar from 2017 to 2022, before which she was SVP and general counsel. For the last four years she has acted as senior outside legal counsel.

Over at NYSE-listed Vizsla Silver, Susy Horna has been named as the company’s next corporate secretary, replacing the departing Jennifer Hanson.
Prior to joining Vizsla Silver, Horna served as manager of corporate records and governance for First Majestic Silver, and before the acquisition by First Majestic Silver as corporate secretary at Gatos Silver.
Earlier in her career, Horna also served as corporate secretary for various public and private companies within the Augusta Group of Companies and as paralegal for Pacific Northwest LNG, Seaspan Corporation and Southwestern Resources.

Meanwhile, Dauch Corporation has named Joshua Sherbin as general counsel and secretary, reporting to chairman and CEO David Dauch.
Before joining Dauch, Sherbin was the chief legal officer, chief administrative officer, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary at The Shyft Group.
Earlier in his career, Sherbin held multiple executive leadership roles, including SVP, general counsel, chief compliance officer, corporate secretary at TriMas Corporation, as well as other leadership roles at Valeo, Kelly Services and Butzel Long.

Elsewhere, NYSE-listed HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital (HASI) has made several executive appointments.
Among those changes, Daniela Shapiro will assume the role of senior managing director and co-chief risk officer and Christy Freer has taken over as HASI’s senior managing director and chief legal officer.
Shapiro joined HASI in 2022 and during this time has grown the company’s ‘Behind-the-Meter’ investment business which includes a $500 mn joint venture with Sunrun. In her role she will co-manage NASI’s risk and portfolio management activities and lead several strategic initiatives.
Freer joins HASI from Inspiration Mobility where she served as general counsel. She has also held roles at Plaid, Mayer Brown, Capital One and Orrick.
Lastly, Teucrium Commodity Trust, a NYSE-listed publicly traded Delaware-based statutory trust, has appointed Brian MacKenzie as its new chief compliance officer.
MacKenzie enters the role with over 20 years of experience in the investment compliance industry. Prior to his appointment he served as head of adviser compliance support services at PINE Adviser Solutions since 2022.
Before this, he was at Janus Henderson Investors, where he most recently served as the head of portfolio surveillance and reporting.
