Ben Maiden is the editor-a-large of Corporate Secretary, having joined the company in December 2016. He is based in New York. He had previously been managing editor of Compliance Reporter since January 2007, covering regulatory and compliance issues affecting broker-dealers and asset management firms. Before that, Ben was editor of International Financial Law Review and IFLR’s Americas editor, working in London and New York.
Edward Greene, Managing Director, Georgeson
Edward Greene is a proxy and governance expert with experience guiding issuers through complex proxy solicitation campaigns and providing companies with the shareholder data, trends and analytics that allow them to employ practices that support good governance.
Edward has been involved in over 200 proxy solicitation campaigns and has led clients to successful outcomes in various matters relating to executive compensation, corporate governance and shareholder activism. He provides year-round corporate governance advisory services and has helped many Russell 3000 and Fortune 500 companies make smarter governance decisions. Edward is also a member of the Society for Corporate Governance.
Julie Silver, virtual meeting specialist, product development, Computershare
In her current role Julie manages electronic communications, from designing emails, including pURLs, to SMS text messages. She also plays an instrumental role in the development of cutting edge proxy related products, the most recent of which include virtual shareholder meetings and mobile voting. She also serves as Inspector of Elections.
Julie has been with Computershare for more than twenty years having previously served as a Senior Account Manager. She managed a variety of large corporate relationships. Julie worked hand-in-hand with clients on the day-to-day management and strategic direction of their shareholder servicing programs. Julie has had extensive experience with Corporate Action projects, including odd lot programs, corporate name changes, corporate mergers, spin offs and company stock splits. Julie has a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts.
Derek Windham, vice president, associate general counsel, Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Derek Windham is currently Vice President, Associate General Counsel at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, leading the Corporate, Securities, and Finance legal team. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Securities and Executive Compensation at Del Monte Corporation, after having served as corporate counsel at the firms of Morrison & Foerster, O’Melveny & Myers, and Shearman & Sterling. He received his J.D. From Harvard Law School in 2002, and B.A. in economics from Yale University in 1999.
