Ben Maiden, editor-at-large, IR Magazine
Ben Maiden is the editor-at-large of Governance Intelligence, having joined the company in December 2016. He is based in New York. He had previously been managing editor of Compliance Reporter since January 2007, covering regulatory and compliance issues affecting broker-dealers and asset management firms. Before that, Ben was editor of International Financial Law Review and IFLR’s Americas editor, working in London and New York.
 

James Harley, principal product manager, Nasdaq 
James is Principal Product Manager within the Nasdaq Governance Solutions team. He has 19 years of experience within corporate governance and has extensive knowledge of regulation, legislation and corporate governance processes, inclusive of emerging cybersecurity and technology trends. With a diverse background in both the public and private sectors across corporate governance, company secretarial, sales and client relationship management, James consistently demonstrates an ability to adapt to ever changing environments with confidence, flexibility and ease.
 

Hatsuki Miyata, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary, Balchem Corporation
Hatsuki serves as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Balchem Corporation, a $5 bn market cap global health and nutrients company. She leads the legal, regulatory and compliance functions at Balchem, serves on the ESG executive steering committee, works closely with the board of directors and provides strategic advice and legal counsel to the chairman, president and CEO and senior management on various matters ranging from corporate governance, M&A, environmental, securities, regulatory, litigation, insurance, enterprise risk management, compliance, investor relations, and tax/Treasury.

Prior to joining Balchem, Hatsuki served as deputy general counsel and corporate secretary at Allegion, an S&P 500 global company in the safety and access solutions industry. She also served as principal of Allegion Ventures.

Prior to Allegion, Hatsuki honed her international business skills and expertise in-house at The Procter & Gamble Company. Hatsuki has an MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a JD from the University of Michigan Law School and an LLM from the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Law and Politics.

She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and is NACD Directorship Certified. She was recently recognized as Equilar’s Top 50 Diverse Board Candidates.
 

Joseph Skrokov, senior director, assistant general counsel, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
Joseph serves as Senior Director, Assistant General Counsel of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a fully integrated biopharmaceutical company within the S&P 500.  In his role, Joseph focuses on disclosure, corporate governance, and financing matters, as well as strategic transactions, shareholder engagement, and board support.  Prior to joining Regeneron, Joseph was a Senior Associate in the Corporate Department of Latham & Watkins LLP, a global law firm.  He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
