NASDAQ OMX acquires Bwise

The acquisition is expected to provide additional support to C-level executives and board members of the stock exchange.

The NASDAQ OMX Group announced the acquisition of BWise, a governance, risk and compliance (GRC) platform that will help companies reduce risk, further efficiency, and increase transparency. The acquisition is expected to provide additional support to C-level executives and board members of the stock exchange.

BWise’s GRC software will be accessible through NASDAQ OMX Corporate Solutions to enhance their governance, investor relations and public relations products. ‘With increasing regulations and, subsequently, greater exposure to risk, GRC is seen as a key indicator of business performance and stability,’ says Bruce Aust, executive vice president of NASDAQ OMX.

The BWise software consists of a single system that contains cumulative data from multiple sources within an entire company, says the firm. The objective of integrating BWise’s GRC platform with NASDAQ’s Corporate Solutions is to assist administrators in risk management, increasing transparency and sustaining their businesses, while remaining compliant with regulations.
