Home security company Allegion has hired Stacy Cozad as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective August 5.
Cozad most recently was executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Ingevity Corporation. According to her LinkedIn profile, before joining Ingevity in 2021 Cozad spent five years at Spirit AeroSystems as senior vice president, general counsel, chief compliance officer (CCO) and corporate secretary. She was previously associate general counsel with Southwest Airlines Co.
Before moving in-house, Cozad was counsel with law firm Cash Klemchuk Powers Taylor and partner at Carrington Coleman Sloman & Blumenthal.
In her new role, Cozad will be responsible for Allegion’s global legal affairs, trade compliance, enterprise risk management and corporate communications functions. She will succeed Jeff Braun, who has announced plans to retire on December 31 and will act as an adviser during the transition period.
Braun joined Ingersoll Rand in September 2013 as deputy general counsel and CCO and held those positions after Allegion became an independent company later that year. He was previously general counsel for General Motors China.
