Latest personnel moves at American Midstream Partners, Meritor and Valeant Pharmaceuticals

Regina Gregory

Regina Gregory

1) Regina Gregory has been appointed senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at American Midstream Partners, effective September 6, 2016. She will succeed William Mathews who has served in that role since 2009. Mathews and Gregory will work closely to ensure a seamless transition.

With 20 years of legal experience, Gregory most recently served as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Traverse Midstream Partners, another limited partnership that owns, operates and develops midstream energy assets. Prior to Traverse, she was general counsel, corporate secretary and compliance officer at Access Midstream Partners. Before Access, she spent a combined 11 years at Midstream Energy Services and other midstream companies, providing in-house legal counsel.

She began her career as an associate at Fulbright & Jaworski in the energy and environmental section, focused on litigation and resolution of energy-related issues, general commercial and contract-related matters. She has a JD from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and a BS in business and marketing from the University of Colorado.

2) Clear Channel Outdoor Americas (CCOA), a division of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, has named Lynn Feldman as executive vice president and general counsel for its US and Canadian businesses. The parent company is one of the world’s largest outdoor advertising companies, with displays in more than 35 countries across five continents.

Feldman joins CCOA from Wyndham Hotel Group, where she served as executive vice president and general counsel for more than five years. Prior to Wyndham, she was senior vice president, deputy general counsel and public company corporate secretary for the parent company, Wyndham Worldwide. Earlier in her career, she held various corporate roles with Cendant Corp and was also a corporate associate at Lowenstein Sandler.

Feldman received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC and her BA degree from Boston College.

 

 

Nancy Cremins

3) Nancy Cremins has been appointed general counsel at Globalization Partners, which provides a professional employer organization that enables companies to hire employees in foreign nations without having to incorporate or operate a subsidiary or branch office in those countries.

Most recently, Cremins worked at Gesmer Updegrove, a Boston-based law firm focused on tech businesses and emerging companies. Her clients included early-stage companies and entrepreneurs, with much of her work centered on dispute resolution and employment law. A past president of the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts, she is also a co-founder of SheStarts, an organization of women entrepreneurs, and has been on the board of Prosperity Catalyst, which helps train women starting businesses in the developing world.

She has a BA from Boston College and law degree from the Northeastern University School of Law.

4) Meritor, a global supplier of drivetrain, mobility, braking and aftermarket solutions for commercial vehicle and industrial markets, has named April Miller Boise senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. She is Meritor’s fourth general counsel in three years.

Boise was most recently senior vice president, general counsel, head of global M&A and corporate secretary at Avintiv from March to December 2015. Before Avintiv, she was vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and chief privacy officer at Veyance Technologies (now part of ContiTech). Prior to that, she was a managing partner of the Cleveland office at Thompson Hine. She has also been a corporate attorney at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, Husch & Eppenberger and Blackwell Sanders, and was a labor relations associate at Ford Motor Company.

Boise earned her JD from the University of Chicago and BBA from the University of Michigan.

5) Rachel Lokitz, associate general counsel at Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), has been elected corporate secretary by ORAU’s board of directors. She replaces Monnie Champion, who served as ORAU’s board secretary from 1995 until her retirement in March 2016.

In her role as associate general counsel, which she has held since 2010, Lokitz provides ORAU’s programs and internal business clients with counsel concerning legal rights, contractual obligations, compliance and risk. She also serves as primary contact for development of corporate policies.

Prior to joining ORAU, Lokitz served as a student attorney for the University of Tennessee College of Law’s business clinic, where she provided corporate legal assistance to small businesses and non-profit organizations. She also serves on the board of directors for CONTACT Care Line and as ORAU executive liaison to the United Way of Anderson County.

Lokitz earned a bachelor’s degree in science from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, and a JD magna cum laude from University of Tennessee College of Law. She earned a master’s certificate in government contracting from the George Washington School of Business.

 

 

Christina Ackermann

6) Valeant Pharmaceuticals International has appointed Christina Ackermann as executive vice president and general counsel, reporting directly to CEO Joseph Papa. She succeeds Robert Chai-Onn, who will be leaving Valeant after a transition period.

For the past 14 years, Ackermann has served in various legal roles at the Novartis group of companies, most recently as senior vice president and general counsel for Alcon, where she was responsible for the legal, intellectual property and compliance functions. Prior to that, she served as global head of legal and general counsel at Sandoz, the generics division of Novartis, from 2007 to 2012.

She joined Novartis Pharma in 2002 as head of legal technical operations and ophthalmics and assumed the role of head of legal and general medicine in July 2005. Before Novartis, she was associate general counsel at both Bristol-Myers Squibb and DuPont Pharmaceuticals. As a private practice attorney, she focused on securities and M&A.

Ackermann has a post-graduate diploma in EC competition law from the University of London in the UK and a bachelor of laws from Queen's University, Kingston in Canada.
