NYSE-listed Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises (B&W) has promoted Robert McKinney to the position of senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective August 5.
McKinney joined the energy and environmental technology company in 2015 and has until this month worked as vice president, assistant general counsel and assistant corporate secretary. He has succeeded André Hall, who has been the company’s general counsel since July 2015. Although he has stepped down from the general counsel role, Hall will serve as special adviser to McKinney during a transition period.
Before joining Barberton, Ohio-based B&WÂ , McKinney was vice president for human resources, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary at EnPro Industries. He also served as general counsel for Tredegar Corporation. Earlier in his career, he held legal roles at United Dominion Industries and worked at law firm Smith Helms Mulliss & Moore.
Hall from August 2013 to March 2015 served as assistant general counsel for transactions and compliance at B&W, with responsibility for corporate legal activities relating to global compliance, international trade compliance and M&A.
Before joining the company, he was global business practices and compliance officer for UTC Aerospace Systems, following United Technologies’ acquisition of Goodrich Corporation.
‘Bob brings an extensive range of corporate, securities and transactional experience to his new position, having served in legal, human resources, compliance and corporate governance roles with several multi-national industrial and engineering firms,’ B&W CEO Kenneth Young says in a statement.
He adds: ‘André has played a central role in many corporate events and transactions with significant legal implications during a period of uncertainty and challenge. On behalf of the entire management team, I want to thank André for his significant contributions and dedicated service.
‘We appreciate his willingness to remain engaged to help ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities for this role.’
