Glenn Bost's tenure at PPG goes back 25 years
PPG Industries, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has promoted Glenn Bost to the role of senior vice president and general counsel. Bost succeeds James Diggs, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
In his new role Bost reports to company chief executive Charles Bunch and takes a seat on the executive and operating committee. His tenure in PPG’s legal department goes back 25 years: when he first came to the company his primary focus was finance and transaction work.
He then moved into PPG’s international legal division where he served as assistant general counsel for the Asia-Pacific and Canadian regions. In 1995 he moved to Paris when PPG promoted him to general counsel of the company’s European arm.
Bost moved back to the US two years later and held increasingly senior-level positions including corporate counsel in transactions and assistant general counsel of corporate operations. He was named vice president in 2006.
Bost began his legal career in private practice, working as an attorney at the Pittsburgh office of law firm Thorp Reed and Armstrong.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a JD from Ohio State University. While in law school, he was also a member of the school’s law review.
Following his graduation from Ohio State, Bost continued his legal studies at Columbia University’s Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law, where he received a certificate
in international law.
