Menlo Park, California-based Personalis has recruited Stephen Moore as general counsel, a newly created position at the company. Moore reports to president and CEO John West.
Moore previously spent 10 years at Pacific Biosciences, where he was also general counsel. Before that, he was general counsel at Navigenics, a consumer genomics company that was later acquired by Life Technologies, now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific. Prior to that, he spent more than eight years at DNA microarray company Affymetrix, which was also later acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he was most recently an associate general counsel.
Nasdaq-listed Personalis is a cancer genomics company involved in developing new therapies by providing more comprehensive molecular data about individual patients’ cancer and immune response.
‘We are very pleased to welcome Stephen to the Personalis team. He has an impressive track record with more than 20 years of in-house legal experience at advanced genomics companies,’ West says in a statement. ‘This expertise will provide critical support as we advance Personalis.’
‘I am pleased to join the Personalis team at this important time for the company,’ Moore says in a statement. ‘After many years working at leading genomics tool and service providers with a shared vision that providing increasingly more comprehensive genomic information is critical to advancing our understanding of biological processes, I am enthusiastic to take part in the large-scale application of that vision to human health.’
