Taryn Fielder joins from ASB Real Estate Investments
Taryn Fielder
Washington REIT has appointed Taryn Fielder as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective March 29.
In her new role, Fielder is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Washington REIT’s legal operations, and serves as the principal legal adviser to the firm’s board of trustees and management team for matters related to commercial and capital market transactions, securities, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Publicly traded Washington REIT describes itself as a self-administered equity real estate investment trust (REIT) investing in income-producing properties in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area. It owns a portfolio of 49 properties, totaling roughly 6 million square feet of commercial space, 4,480 multi-family units and land held for development.
Before joining Washington REIT, Fielder served as senior vice president and general counsel for ASB Real Estate Investments. Before that, she was assistant general counsel for DiamondRock Hospitality Company, a publicly traded REIT. She also spent nearly seven years with Hogan & Hartson (now Hogan Lovells) in the law firm’s real estate group.
An ASB Real Estate Investments official did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
‘Taryn has a strong and proven track record of providing strategic advice and counsel for a wide range of complex real estate transactions, joint ventures, leasing agreements and financing arrangements,’ Washington REIT president and CEO Paul McDermott says. ‘We are confident that she is well suited to help drive our continued progress toward improving the overall quality of our portfolio and enhancing long-term value for our shareholders.’
