After facing down activists, Atkins named governance professional of the year
AOL vice president and deputy general counsel Damien Atkins received the governance professional of the year award in the small to mid-cap category at Corporate Secretary’s fifth annual Corporate Governance Awards in New York on January 8.
Atkins helped lead AOL’s legal team last year as the company repelled a proxy challenge and restructured its CEO's contract to meet shareholder concerns about executive pay.
