Kathryn Yung, also general counsel, succeeds RJ Falconi
CSA Group has promoted Kathryn Yung to become the company’s general counsel and corporate secretary, effective January 28, 2017.
The company provides technical standards development and product certification for manufacturers, retailers, code authorities and consumers around the world.
Yung joined CSA Group in 2005, and has been responsible for increasingly complex and high-profile projects including M&A, litigation management, new business risk assessments, asset purchase and divestitures, as well as various leadership roles in Europe, the company says. She was appointed to the role of vice president and deputy general counsel in September 2016. Before joining the company, she was a member of the legal team at Imperial Oil.
Yung succeeds RJ Falconi, who retired from CSA Group on January 27, 2017, after 17 years with the organization, according to the company. Most recently, he held the role of executive vice president, chief legal and governance officer, general counsel and corporate secretary.
‘RJ has made many contributions to the organization – including the development of world-class legal, anti-counterfeiting and government relations departments,’ says David Weinstein, president and CEO of CSA Group, in a statement. ‘As corporate secretary, he has provided excellent support to our board of directors. I would like to thank him for his many contributions and for serving as a valued member of our leadership team.’
Weinstein adds: ‘In her 12 years with CSA Group, [Yung] has successfully navigated through complex and difficult assignments. Heading toward our 100th anniversary, this leadership experience is essential as we evolve and set up our organization for future success.’
