Owens Corning expands role of general counsel

Gina Beredo has been with the company since 2021

Owens Corning has promoted Gina Beredo to the newly created role of executive vice president, chief administrative officer and general counsel.

The move expands Beredo’s oversight to include the company’s human resources function in addition to her existing legal, corporate affairs, aviation and community affairs responsibilities.

Beredo joined Owens Corning in June 2021 as general counsel. Since then, she has been involved in initiatives such as the acquisition and integration of Masonite International Corporation and the divestiture of the company’s glass reinforcements business.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Beredo previously spent eight years at Nordson Corporation, most recently as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Before that, she was chief litigation counsel and director of compliance and ethics at American Greetings Corporation. She was previously in private practice with Baker & Hostetler.

Brian Chambers, chair and CEO of Owens Corning, says in a statement: ‘Since joining [the company], Gina has been an integral part of our executive team, working across the organization to drive performance and position us for growth as we reshape and focus the company as a building products leader.

‘[She] has continuously demonstrated the ability to bring out the very best in her teams. A champion of our employees, she will continue to ensure we have the talent and capabilities needed to win in the market and drive our company’s success.’

Chambers adds: ‘I would also like to thank Paula Russell, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, as she begins her planned path to pursue personal growth opportunities aligned with her passions. Paula has worked tirelessly over her 25-year career with the company to modernize our human resources practices and processes and enhance employee engagement and belonging, which has been key to our operational and financial success.’

Russell will support a transition of responsibilities to Beredo until her departure in mid-April. She did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
