Stephanie Davis joins auto maker from KPMG
Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) last week appointed Stephanie Davis to serve as chief compliance officer (CCO).
In her new role, Davis directs ‘strategy for and drives a culture of compliance and integrity that ensures adherence to legal and statutory requirements and the highest ethical principles,’ the company says in a statement. She sits on the executive leadership team and reports to Hinrich Woebcken, president and CEO of VWGoA.
The position she now occupies has been elevated from director level. Previously, Jürgen Bittner served as director of governance, risk and compliance. He is now in the newly created role of director of enterprise risk management.
Davis joins the automobile company from KPMG, where she was a director in the audit firm’s national forensic practice based in Washington, DC. She has experience in compliance program and process design, implementation and oversight in corporate, advisory and academic settings.
A KPMG spokesperson was not available immediately for comment.

Her knowledge of US automotive and environmental regulation and her experience as an accomplished compliance and ethics professional make her a valued addition to our leadership team,’ Woebcken says.
