The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is promoting David Phillips to senior vice president and general counsel, effective June 4.
Phillips is currently associate general counsel for the Americas at Goodyear. He will succeed David Bialosky, who is retiring. Bialosky will remain with Goodyear as an officer until his retirement on September 30 to help with the transition, according to the company.
Dan Young, currently senior legal counsel and assistant secretary, will become corporate secretary – a role Bialosky holds at present – and associate general counsel.
Phillips joined Goodyear in 2011 as senior legal counsel for real estate and finance. Among other things, he has served in a leadership role on launching TireHub, the company’s distribution joint venture. In his new role, he will report to chair, CEO and president Richard Kramer.
Young moved to Goodyear in 2007. He has provided legal advice on securities law, finance, corporate governance and executive compensation matters, and has provided support for the board of directors. He will report to Phillips in his new role.
