Ingersoll Rand has promoted Evan Turtz to become senior vice president and general counsel, effective immediately. In that role, he is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of the company’s legal and compliance efforts globally.
Turtz succeeds Maria Green, who will retire in June. Green has served as senior vice president and general counsel since joining Ingersoll Rand four years ago. Before that, she was senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Illinois Tool Works. Earlier in her career, Green worked at the Chicago Transit Authority, Amtrak and in private legal practice.
Turtz joined Ingersoll Rand in 2004, most recently working as the company’s deputy general counsel and corporate secretary, and general counsel for Ingersoll Rand’s industrial businesses. Previously, he headed up the company’s labor and employment practice, and has also served as director of litigation. Before joining the company he worked with law firms including McCarter & English.
The moves are not the first changes in the company’s senior legal ranks in recent months. Angel Willis, who had previously served as vice president and deputy general counsel at Ingersoll Rand leading strategic legal transactions and legal affairs for Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa, in January became vice president, general counsel and secretary at Sealed Air Corporation.

He adds: ‘Maria has contributed greatly as a trusted adviser and member of our leadership team.
