Perdue Farms has hired Catherine Muldoon as chief compliance officer, to lead the family-owned food and agriculture company’s office of business ethics and compliance.
In her new role, Muldoon will establish, implement and administer a compliance structure to strengthen Perdue Farms’ existing compliance efforts, according to the company.
Muldoon most recently was general counsel for Baldor Specialty Foods. She was previously chief legal officer at logistics transportation firm BDP International, where she created a code of conduct and business ethics program.
According to her LinkedIn profile, she spent more than 18 years in that role, during which time she also spent almost six years as adjunct professor for risk management, international business, ethics and anti-corruption with Drexel University’s Thomas R Kline School of Law.
Herb Frerichs, general counsel and corporate secretary for Perdue Farms, says in a statement: ‘We’re pleased to have someone with Catherine’s depth of experience to help bolster our current compliance practices. The animal protein industry and broader agricultural sectors are becoming increasingly complex.
‘Creating a centralized structure to oversee our company-wide compliance program will ensure we are not just complying with laws and regulations but exceeding them, while living up to our culture of trust, integrity and doing the right thing.’
