Phoenix American Financial Services, which provides back office outsourcing, fund accounting and transfer agent services to fund companies in the alternative investment industry, has recruited Ned Montenecourt as chief risk and compliance officer.
In his new role, Montenecourt is responsible for all aspects of the company’s risk and compliance framework, managing its risk, service organization controls and security audits, and overseeing operations, collaborating with clients and implementing standard operating procedures to streamline all aspects of compliance. He joined Phoenix American Financial Services last month and reports to senior vice president of operations Andrew Constantin.
Montenecourt most recently worked at BlackRock as chief compliance officer for BlackRock Investments and BlackRock Execution Services, a role in which he was responsible for the asset manager’s broker-dealer distribution channels for active, passive and private products. At BlackRock, he implemented controls required for the firm’s registered investment adviser, commodity pool operator/commodity trading adviser and broker-dealer businesses.
A BlackRock spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.
‘[Montenecourt’s] appointment is a sign of our commitment to becoming the leading fund administrator in the alternatives investment industry,’ Constantin says in a statement.
