NYSE American-listed Volt Information Sciences has promoted Nancy Avedissian to the position of senior vice president, chief legal officer (CLO) and corporate secretary.
Avedissian has been senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary with the company since October 2016, based in Orange, California. In her new role as CLO – a newly created position at the company - she has oversight of the company’s legal function in Europe and Asia, in addition to managing its legal and contracts department in the US.
According to Volt, Avedissian has in recent years led divestitures of the company’s non-core businesses, advised on financing transactions and provided legal counsel to the company on organizational changes, the transitioning of senior executives and the onboarding of new directors.
Before moving to staffing services provider Volt, Avedissian was general counsel and vice president for legal affairs at contract research organization Worldwide Clinical Trials. In that role, she managed an international team and focused on commercial transactions, corporate law and governance issues. She began her career as a transactional attorney advising on M&A deals, securities and corporate finance at law firm Milbank.
Volt president and CEO Linda Perneau says in a statement: ‘Nancy is a trusted legal adviser who exercises sound judgment as she delivers business-minded solutions to legal issues. As [CLO], she will continue to be a valued contributor to our executive team as we focus on long-term strategic growth.’
