Jeffrey Yin joined XO Group January 2 as the company’s general counsel. In his new role, he reports to CEO Mike Steib and serves on XO Group’s executive team.
The company has not had a general counsel for a few years and the position was created for Yin, according to a spokesperson.
Yin previously served as general counsel of the Alberleen Group, a boutique investment bank and family office. Before that, he served as chief compliance officer and general counsel of Medallion Financial, a publicly traded specialty finance business. Yin’s law firm experience includes Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and Brobeck Phleger & Harrison.
An official with the Alberleen Group did not respond to a request for comment.
According to XO Group, Yin has served as lead attorney on public offerings and acquisitions, and advises on securities law compliance and negotiating commercial and strategic transactions. New York-based XO Group describes its mission as to ‘help people navigate and truly enjoy life’s biggest moments together’, by providing guidance and planning for couples getting married, moving in together or having a baby.
