DoorDash is promoting Tia Sherringham to become general counsel, effective January 1.
Sherringham is at present vice president for legal with the food delivery company. She joined DoorDash in 2017 as associate general counsel before taking up her current position in 2018. As general counsel, she will continue to oversee the company’s legal team, in addition to its security, IT and enterprise technology functions. She is currently assistant corporate secretary and will become corporate secretary in January.
Before joining DoorDash, Sherringham was a founding member of Instacart’s legal team, where she worked as a commercial and product counsel. According to a company announcement, she is a litigator by background, having been a law clerk to the Hon Barbara Jones in the Southern District of New York before joining law firm Keker Van Nest & Peters, where she represented clients in litigation including Electronic Arts, Twitter and Google.
‘In her time at DoorDash, Tia has built the legal team from the ground up and spearheaded the work on numerous cross-functional initiatives that contributed directly to the company’s success,’ the company states. During her time with DoorDash, Sherringham has led its major fund-raising rounds and managed its IPO. She also co-founded the company’s first employee resource group, Women@DoorDash.
