EyePoint Pharmaceuticals has appointed Ron Honig to the new role of senior vice president, general counsel and company secretary. As of late last month, he oversees the company’s legal activities, including the legal aspects of licensing, compliance, strategic transactions and business development.
Watertown, Massachusetts-based EyePoint Pharmaceuticals is a specialty biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing ophthalmic products to help patients with serious eye disorders.
Honig has worked for more than 25 years in the medical device, biotechnology, contract manufacturing and legal services industries. He most recently served as vice president for global legal affairs at Novanta. Before that, he was senior vice president, general counsel and company secretary of Lake Region Medical, a privately held medical device and medical component manufacturer, where he was responsible for all legal, intellectual property and environmental, health and safety functions worldwide.
In addition, Honig has served as vice president for group legal affairs and company secretary at Gyrus ACMI and has worked at laws firms such as Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo.
