Fannie Mae has appointed Stergios ‘Terry’ Theologides as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for the housing finance provider, effective March 28.
Theologides most recently served as CoreLogic’s senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. In that position, he was a member of the management committee, helped guide the company’s strategic and innovation initiatives and advised the company on issues such as compliance, information security, internal audit and enterprise risk.
Before joining CoreLogic, Theologides was executive vice president and general counsel for Morgan Stanley’s US residential mortgage business and was a member of the Federal Reserve Board’s Consumer Advisory Council.
Theologides is succeeding Brian Brooks, who served as Fannie Mae's executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary from November 2014 to September 2018. Since then, he has served as the chief legal officer of Coinbase Global.
Fannie Mae last week announced that Brooks and Karin Kimbrough had been were elected to its board of directors. Kimbrough has served as assistant treasurer for Google since October 2017.

He will play an important leadership role in helping us achieve our strategic priorities as we continue our work with customers and partners to increase the supply of affordable housing and drive innovation in the mortgage industry.’
