Mark Allen, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary with FedEx Corporation, is retiring after spending 42 years with the company.
According to FedEx, he will continue in his role until September 23, 2024, then become a senior adviser until the end of the year to help with the transition to an as-yet-unnamed successor.
Allen joined FedEx in 1982 having previously been in private practice. Immediately before taking on his current role in 2017 he was based in Europe as the senior vice president and international general counsel for FedEx Express. In 1992 he moved to Toronto as the company’s general counsel for the Canadian region before moving to Hong Kong in 1996 as general counsel for the Asia-Pacific region. In 2000 he switched to Brussels and initially had the role of general counsel for the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Indian Subcontinent region.
During his time at FedEx, Allen has directed international commercial and aviation negotiations, managed government relations and handled corporate governance, regulatory, security and operations matters. Among other things, he sits on the board of the US Chamber of Commerce.
