S&P 500 member IDEXX Laboratories has appointed Sharon Underberg as corporate vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective March 1.
In her new role, Underberg leads the pet healthcare company’s global legal and compliance teams and the office of the corporate secretary. She succeeds Jacqueline Studer, who has been IDEXX’s corporate vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary since 2014, according to the company.
Underberg joins IDEXX from Eastman Kodak Company, where she served for nearly three decades in roles within Kodak’s global legal organization. For the past four years, she served as general counsel, secretary and senior vice president, providing counsel to the senior leadership and the company’s board of directors.
During her time at Kodak, Underberg worked on a variety of global commercial transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and corporate financings. Before joining Kodak, she was an attorney in the New York office of law firm Fulbright & Jaworski (now Norton Rose Fulbright).
Westbrook, Maine-based IDEXX provides veterinarians around the world with diagnostic and information technology-based products and services.
‘I am grateful to Jackie for her substantial contributions to the company over the course of her time at IDEXX,’ chair and CEO Jonathan Ayers says in a statement. ‘Sharon Underberg’s exceptional global experience across strategic, commercial and corporate governance and securities matters makes her well-suited to take on the general counsel role at this exciting time in IDEXX’s trajectory.’
