Luminar Technologies has announced the appointment of Alan Prescott as chief legal officer and Trey Campbell as vice president of investor relations.
The company listed on Nasdaq in December 2020, following a merger with special purpose acquisition company Gores Metropoulos.
Prescott joins Luminar from Tesla, where he spent four years, including a recent stint as its general counsel. Before working at Tesla, he served as senior counsel for Uber’s Advanced Technology Group. He started his career at Ford Motor Company, ultimately acting as the special counsel to the general counsel.
Austin Russell, Luminar’s founder and CEO, says in a statement: ‘Alan understands the challenges and nuances of operating in both the autonomous driving space and in the automotive industry more broadly, and we look forward to his insights and expertise as we continue to scale our business and accelerate the expansion of our product and commercial roadmaps.’
Campbell joins Luminar to lead its investor relations efforts. He has spent the last 20 years of his career at Intel Corporation in a variety of functional roles, including corporate strategy, information technology, sales and marketing and, most recently, investor relations.
Luminar’s chief financial officer, Tom Fennimore, says in a statement: ‘Trey’s background in leading and growing an investor relations practice at a publicly traded global technology corporation will be invaluable to Luminar as we continue to execute on our near and long-term initiatives to fulfill our vision.
‘His strong leadership and communications experience as well as long-standing relationships with the financial community will help tremendously as we spearhead the industry, creating shareholder value and taking Luminar to the next level.’
