McDonald’s Corporation has hired Desiree Ralls-Morrison as general counsel and corporate secretary, effective April 26. She will be based at the company’s Chicago headquarters.
Ralls-Morrison was most recently general counsel and corporate secretary at Boston Scientific Corporation, a position she took up in 2017. Before that, she was general counsel and corporate secretary at Boehringer Ingelheim USA from 2013 to 2017, general counsel of the consumer group at Johnson & Johnson from 2005 to 2013 and assistant counsel at Merck & Co from 1997 to 2005.
Ralls-Morrison serves on the board of directors of DICK’s Sporting Goods and was a founding member of the New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund in Massachusetts.
McDonald’s last October announced that executive vice president, general counsel and secretary Jerome Krulewitch had retired from the company on health grounds. Krulewitch became corporate general counsel and secretary in 2017 having spent 15 years at McDonald’s in various leadership positions. Mahrukh Hussain, who was serving as US general counsel, took on the role of interim general counsel and secretary.
‘I’m thrilled that Desiree is joining our team – not just for the strong experience she brings, but also for the values-based leadership that has defined every aspect of her career,’ McDonald’s president and CEO Chris Kempczinski says in a statement. ‘Her commitment to leading with integrity, along with her work to support positive change in communities, will strengthen our efforts to bring our values to life across the business.’
