NASDAQ-listed NBT Bancorp has hired Angela Wolfe Kelley as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. She co-ordinates NBT’s legal activities and outside counsel and oversees relations with regulators. She is based at the company’s headquarters in Norwich, New York.
Kelley is successor to Sheldon Prentice, who retired in January 2019. Sheldon is now senior counsel with Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer in Montpelier, Vermont.
Kelley joined NBT from Heartland Financial USA, where she was senior vice president, deputy general counsel and corporate secretary. Before working at Heartland Financial she was an attorney with law firm Faegre Baker Daniels.
‘We are very pleased to welcome Angela Kelley to NBT,’ says company president and CEO John Watt in a statement. ‘Her experience managing legal, risk and other activities for a larger community bank has prepared her well for her new role at NBT. We look forward to her strategic advice as we continue to grow.’
NBT operates primarily through NBT Bank, a full-service community bank with 149 locations in New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, and through two financial services companies.
