Samantha Wellington will join eBay as senior vice president, chief legal officer (CLO), general counsel and corporate secretary on October 7.
In her new role. she will oversee all global aspects of eBay’s legal department, including government relations, intellectual property, employment, litigation, regulatory and corporate work. She will report to CEO Jamie Iannone.
Wellington most recently was executive vice president of business affairs, CLO and corporate secretary at TriNet. In that role she led a team including members in the company’s legal, compliance, government affairs, customer service, sales, operations, product management, engineering, technology and risk units.
Before joining TriNet in 2016, she spent 12 years at Oracle, where she held senior legal positions, most recently managing counsel for corporate securities and acquisitions. According to her LinkedIn profile, earlier in her career she was a lawyer with the Australian Communications and Media Authority and legal counsel with Foxtel in Sydney, Australia.
Wellington succeeds Marie Oh Huber, who stepped down from eBay in June after nine years as the company’s top lawyer.
TriNet has appointed Sidney Majalya as senior vice president, CLO and secretary, effective September 16. He was previously vice president and deputy general counsel with the company, prior to which he was executive vice president, chief risk officer and deputy general counsel at Binance.US.
