Oracle has hired Stuart Levey as executive vice president and chief legal officer (CLO).
Levey from 2012 to 2020 was CLO of HSBC Holdings, before which he was a senior fellow at the Council of Foreign Relations. He was most recently CEO of the Diem Association, a blockchain technology organization.
From 2004 until 2011 Levey was the first undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence at the US Department of the Treasury. He was appointed by former president George W Bush and stayed on in that role at the request of former president Barrack Obama. Before then he spent three years with the US Department of Justice.
According to his LinkedIn profile, his earlier experience includes working at law firms Miller Cassidy Larroca & Lewin and later Baker Botts.
