Murdoch has cut all links with NewsCorp’s newspaper business.
The Economic Times reports that James Murdoch, the younger son of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, has resigned from the board of Times Newspapers, which is publishes the Times of London and the Sunday Times.
Other documents reveal that Murdoch also relinquished all connections to the boards of holding companies NewsCorp Investments and News International Publishers, prior to stepping down as chairman of UK publishing division, News International, which was announced last month.
It is evident Murdoch is struggling to keep his career on track. In March, following his resignation from the board of GlaxoSmithKline, Murdoch left auction house Sotheby’s as well.
The once apparent heir to the media empire is under investigation for his role in the phone hacking and bribery scandal that engulfed the billion-dollar business last July and resulted in the collapse of 168-year-old British newspaper News of the World.
Murdoch is now based in NewsCorp’s New York headquarters where he is expected to keep his deputy chief operating officer position and focus on its pay television businesses and international operations. Â
