TriMas senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer Joshua Sherbin is leaving the company after 16 years.
Sherbin ceased operating in his officer capacities on March 5 but will remain employed with the company until May 11 to provide transitional support through TriMas’ AGM. Jodi Robin will be interim general counsel while TriMas restructures its legal approach, according to the company.
‘This additional realignment of the company’s corporate office functions is the latest in TriMas’ streamlining of its infrastructure approach to better align with the proactive steps taken to focus its business portfolio,’ the company says in announcing Sherbin’s departure.
During his time at TriMas, Sherbin has supported the board of directors and CEO, advising on numerous acquisitions, divestitures and a spin-off, and has supported the company and its operating divisions on legal, safety, compliance, governance and employee-related matters.
Before joining the company, he was North American corporate counsel and corporate secretary at Valeo and senior counsel and assistant corporate secretary at Kelly Services.
‘Josh has made significant contributions to TriMas over the past 16 years through his prudent judgment, integrity and legal counsel,’ board chair Samuel Valenti says in a statement. ‘He has been an instrumental leader who has helped shape TriMas into the company it is today.’
‘We wish Josh all the best as he embarks on the next chapter of his legal career,’ says president and CEO Thomas Amato in announcing the move. ‘While his service to TriMas will be missed, his legacy of improving TriMas’ governance oversight will remain strong.’
