Wendy’s hires former Kellogg attorney as CLO

John Min was legal chief at Kellanova after its spin-off

The Wendy’s Company has appointed John Min as its new chief legal officer (CLO) and corporate secretary, reporting to president and CEO Kirk Tanner.

Min succeeds EJ Wunsch, who was appointed as president of the company’s international business in June.

Min was most recently senior vice president, CLO and corporate secretary of Kellanova following the separation of Kellogg Company into two firms, the other being WK Kellogg Co. According to his LinkedIn profile, he spent more than 13 years at Kellogg Company before the split in roles such as CLO-designate during the spin-off and previously general counsel for Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

Before joining the company he was an attorney with Jenner & Block, where he focused on litigation, and Jones Day.

Tanner says in a statement: ‘John’s proven track record of managing complex commercial transactions, his extensive background in legal strategy and corporate governance and his unique global experience will be invaluable as we look to further solidify our development plans.’

Wunsch had been CLO since joining Wendy’s in 2016. In that role he was involved in initiatives across Australia, Asia, Europe and South America. Before joining Wendy’s, he spent 17 years at The Procter & Gamble Company where he held several key leadership positions, most recently vice president and general counsel of the company’s North America business.
