Xerox has appointed Louie Pastor as executive vice president and general counsel, effective October 1.
In his new role, Pastor reports to vice chair and CEO John Visentin, and will serve as a member of the company’s executive committee. He will oversee all of Xerox’s legal affairs, including legal aspects of the firm’s various strategic initiatives, as well as leading the company’s corporate security, government-related and public policy activities on domestic and international affairs.
Pastor joins Xerox from Icahn Enterprises, where he was deputy general counsel. In that role he was responsible for long-term strategic initiatives including the acquisitions and dispositions of operating companies, and investments in and engagements with public and private companies. He was also responsible for overseeing the legal departments of the various operating subsidiaries of Icahn Enterprises.
Pastor began his legal career at Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett, where he advised public companies on M&A, securities offerings and corporate governance.
Pastor’s predecessor as general counsel was Sarah McConnell. A Xerox spokesperson did not have a comment on her departure or new position. She could not be located for comment.
‘Louie’s legal expertise and sharp insight will be instrumental in rebuilding Xerox into a technology powerhouse,’ Visentin says in a statement.
